I got the payout email this morning and was taken back at the amount, so started looking at the order details and transaction pages, which they made VERY confusing. Someone needs to come up with a new auction site to give eVILbay some competition.Īlso, I have read on here several times that people chat with the reps and got explainations, all I got was "Yup, we charged for that, yep we charged for that" and when I asked why my fees are approaching 20% of my actual asking price I get "that's our sure. The fees are getting out of hand eBay! I understand the FVF including shipping to deter $0.01 sale with $100 shipping, but if the seller uses the automatic eBay calculator, why are we being punished? If eBay offers global shipping and the buyer pays said shipping cost, why are we paying a FVF on that global shipping service in which we never even had a hand in that part of the transaction? That's a lot closer to 20% than it is the supposed "12.5%". eBay charges me $20.64 on a net $120 sale. So, the final valve ended up being $162 for an item that I was asking $120 sans shipping.

When an over-seas buyer purchases through the global program, eBay now adds the FVF on the shipping in which THE SELLER NEVER CREATED!!!! I recently sold an item for $120 plus shipping ($21 actual/calc'd cost), but since the buyer was overseas, their shipping price was another $31, and supposedly paid sales tax of $11.40 (IDK anywhere that charges 9% sales tax). Now instead of paying PayPal's 2-3% on the tax collected, Ebay puts it in the FVF, so we now pay 12+% on the sales tax eBay collected, which OK, fine, they are snakes and we all know it.īUT! This is a new one I realized. Ok, so we were "supposed" to save money by Ebay moving transactions in-house, but that's bull (and we all know it). I just realized Ebay is charging us fees for monies we never see!!!
